Sign-Painters Legacy

Here’s a piece that I made around the idea of this old signpainter, his name is Howard Bussey. His father was a Signpainter also and worked here in Omaha, for Crownlan signs. He would do alot of the window lettering for the banks & specialized in gold leaf work. Anyway, one day I was cleaning out the studio in the Fox Building, down in the Old Market, I found this broken old cart that had these on it. I was at the time working on skull anatomy in wire, and made a nice piece that reflects some level the mortality of not only people we know but also that of the craftsman and that cycle.
